BAKU -- Head of Iran's Customs Administration Mahdi karbassian arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan's capital, Monday to take part in the 44th session of the World Customs Organization intended to discuss the organization's policies.
Talking to IRNA at the Baku Airport, he said Iran represents the Asia-Pacific region in the meeting which is to review the issues related to the World Customs Organization as well as the customs offenses including the illicit trafficking.
The meeting is also aimed at , among other things, determining the new policies of the World Customs Organization with a view to the commercial and trade activities in the world, and categorizing the commercial items, he said.
He said he would elaborate on the customs-related problems facing the Iranian business people in the gathering, adding that he is to hold talks with his Azeri counterpart on boosting the Iran-Azerbaijan bilateral ties in customs affairs.
The 44th session of the World Customs Organization would be attended by officials and representatives from 26 countries in Baku within December 5-8.
